Nita Ambani is working towards the Betterment of Indians

Nita Ambani is a personality who dons one too many caps. She is India’s wealthiest woman and the wife of India’s richest man, MukeshAmbani, who is the Managing Director and Chairman of Reliance Industries, India’s largest conglomerate. She is also the showrunner of one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League cricket tournament, Mumbai Indians. But more importantly, she is the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, one of India’s largest philanthropic organizations that works towards healthcare, education, sanitation, women empowerment, sports for development, rural development, rescue operations, arts, and culture.

In her recent speech about women empowerment in the Women in the World summit in New Delhi, Nita Ambani spoke about her foundation’s attempt to provide assistance to hapless women in the rural villages of Gujarat and Jalandhar to bring about a change in their communities. She speaks with compassion about her initiative involving women who have less or no means to survive in these harrowed times. Calling fellow women of country her sisters, Nita Ambani extended her hand to help them make the country a better place, because it is a debt for her that she will go deep to repay.

At the employee launch of Reliance Jio, Nita Ambani talked about Reliance Foundation reaching new heights, Mumbai Indians winning two IPL tournaments, and Reliance Foundation Drishti helping underprivileged students with education and healthcare.

The Wall Street Journal calls Nita Ambani (sometimes addressed as Neeta Ambani in the media) a power player in the art world. It is because she is planning to open a world-class museum in India through her foundation, which has emerged as a go-to donor for major U.S. museums seeking to mount shows with ties to her homeland. This initiative in the arts and culture sphere will connect Indian artists to the world, which will ultimately drive India’s presence in the art world.

In 2014, Nita Ambani was inducted to the board of Reliance Industries Limited. Talking about his wife’s joining, MukeshAmbani said, “Nita has been engaged in several initiatives that have strengthened Reliance, right from building the world-class township and the ecological development at Jamnagar, next-generation office campuses, designing customer touch points of Reliance Retail, healthcare initiatives, successfully setting up and running institutions such as DhirubhaiAmbani International School and Mumbai Indians to, most importantly, managing Reliance Foundation.”

Nita Ambani-led Reliance Foundation was set up in 2010 to provide impetus to various philanthropic initiatives of RIL. The efforts of the group have already touched the lives of more than four million people across India, in more than 5,500 villages and urban locations. The Foundation is currently focusing on creating change in areas of Rural Transformation, Health, and Education, Sports for Development, Disaster Response, Arts, Culture & Heritage, and Urban Renewal. It has significantly contributed to and made measurable progress toward its vision of an inclusive India.

Nita Ambani, through her CSR organization Reliance Foundation, is striving to make India a better place to live.
