The digital arm of parent company, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Reliance Jio launched its commercial services on the 5th of September, 2016 on an all-India scale. Reliance Jio Partners with Hong Kong-Based DMX Technologies

Reliance Jio Launches a New Smart Phone – the LYF WIND 7i

The comprehensive range of digital services offered by Reliance Jio includes telecom facilities, premium applications, personal hotspot devices, and 4G-LTE smart phones. The brand recently launched the LYF WIND 7i, which is a slightly identical version of its predecessor, LYF WIND 7.

Tim Cook Expects Jio to Boost the Experience of iPhone Users in India

Additionally, users can also download and use its premium applications for free until the end of the year.

However, considering TRAI regulations, Reliance Jio stated that its offer would be available for subscription until the 3rd of December 2016, which would grant free services till the end of the year. A Jio spokesperson explained that although users can enjoy the offer till end of 2016, it would not be available as an option post the 3rd of December. After that, the company will introduce its tariff rates and packages in the market.

The service provider also tied up with Apple iPhones in India. Buyers of new iPhone handsets can enjoy up to a year of free Reliance Jio services.

Apple, a company based in Cupertino, stated that its iPhone sales went up by 50% in the fiscal year of 2016. Anshuman Thakur, Business Head at Reliance Jio, stated that the company is adding 0.6 to 1.1 million customers to its network on a daily basis. This inflow volume will help the company to adhere to its target of acquiring 100 million subscribers in the upcoming year. Jio has proven to be the fastest in terms of user acquisition, having garnered 16 million customers in less than three months of being fully operational.

The company stated that it would be investing an additional INR 1 lakh crore by 2020 in its operational divisions. This is following the investment of INR 1.45 trillion, which was utilized to set up the company.

Tier I and II consumers, however have realized that VoLTE will allow them to experience quality HD voice calls.
